Jews were not the only people massacred in Europe in the early 1940s. But at any rate, I don't see what being Jewish has to do with it. The Holocaust is the kind of atrocity that you don't 'get over' just 60 short years after it took place. It's one of the blackest stories of world history. Similarly, massacres in Vietnam and elsewhere will not be gotten over that easily.

I had 4 great-uncles fighting on the ground in Germany at the same time. So I have heard a little about what they found. The youngest one was killed after he got back to the US. He was coming home with all his back pay. Someone killed him and robbed him.
Then they were so nice as to put his body on a train track. They know he was dead before the train ran over him because he did not bleed. So he never saw his family when he came home from war.

Imagine surviving the war and dying in a robbery when you're back on your own home soil! What a crushing disappointment for your family when they heard that!

Lass you are correct. The holocaust cannot be forgotten. Hundreds died and they weren't just Jews. Gays, Black, Asian and Slavic people were killed (although in smaller numbers). I am sure after killing the Jews, Hitler would have moved onto other races/religions. Hitler wanted thing and we all know what it was.

The loss of all these lives will never be forgotten. It's the same with the other genocides/massacres. People will not forget them

Yes, we are not forgetting the 160,000 Jewish deaths (Red Cross estimate based on actual death records) in the holocaust. Nor do we forget the deaths of many others in other wars and massacres like the "killing fields", numerous massacres of Palestinian refugees, the 1.5 million dead Iraqis including 500,000 children under 5 years of age due to sanctions before the latest war that has killed around 600,000 more, and more recently Israel's massacre in Lebanon. Why can't we stop these things happening?

The problem here is the Zionist Jews were given a country as restitution where someone had already been living for generations. A country that had no part in the massacre they suffered. Why were they not given "West" Germany instead?
