No, that wasn't the reason he became the bad guy - but it didn't help his cause.
You are right about it not being any cheaper for us - but that wasn't what I meant. We all know oil is limited and supplies are going to run out - probably in our time, but what the UK has done is to have made sure that we have that oil keep coming.
Just like it takes oil to make an engine tick; so it takes oil to make an economy tick. Take away oil in an economy and it will totally collapse as soon as the last oil is used.
