Time

Thousands of years ago, days were split in to two parts, day and night. Those were both divided into 12 points, based on sunlight and star formations. As time moved on, each section was split into 60 parts and each part into 60 again. Today we call these Hours, Minutes, and Seconds.
We live in a digital age where communication is near-instantaneous and it's not uncommon for people from around the world to work together towards common goals. Timing, however, can become difficult as timezones and daylight savings time come into play (Along with off-world expedition). That is why I propose we recreate time for our day and age. We live in a metric world, based off of 10s with digital access allowing time to be kept without the need of previous tools, such as sundials and pendulums. Have a time based off of milliseconds, seconds, and kiloseconds, much like we do for mass and distance. It can either repeat every so often (As ours currently does) or build up over time, as it will be offkey with Days, Months, and Years and a method of longterm tracking would become necessary.
Flaws, ideas, and solutions are all welcome. In your opinion, do you think such an idea is possible? Do you think such an idea is plausible?
Thank you for taking your time to review my thoughts ^.^
